NOTICE INVITONG TENDER |
|
Sealed quotations are invited for packing and moving of paper
artifacts from agencies experienced in packing & moving of
such art objects.. The total number of paintings (around five
thousand), size within 24" X 18" are
to be shifted from Rabindra Bharati Society (RBS) 5, Dwarka Nath
Tagore Lane, Kolkata 700007 to Victoria Memorial Hall
(VMH), 1,Queens Way, Kolkata 700 071in boxes specification of
which is given below. The 8 to10 nos. empty steel plan cabinets
(size: Length 46", Breadth 34" and Height 25"
and 2 nos. steel racks etc. are also to be shifted. |

The specifications for packing and shifting has been stated
below: |

1. |
Objects are to be shifted in batches of 250 paintings (each
batch) in a week from 3rd floor of RBS to VMH, 1st floor. |
|
2. |
The objects which are mounted on board should be wrapped first
by the good quality soft paper/tissue paper and then plastic
bubble sheets. |
|
3. |
The objects which are not mounted on board should be kept
in between acid free soft paper & acid free board and then
wrapped with plastic bubble wrapper. |
|
4. |
The objects framed with glass are to be packed as indicated
in point 2.In addition, the masking tape to be fixed on glass
to avoid scratches. |

5. |
All such objects should be kept in wooden/ply board boxes
and tightly packed, blocking the movement of artifacts within
the box during transfer/transportation. |
|
6. |
The boxes should be made of ½ inch thick good quality
ply board with proper wooden frame (approx size: Length- 40",
breath- 22" and height 28").
The inside walls of boxes are to be padded by
2" thickness high density foam.

7. |
All the wooden boxes (containing paintings) should be carried
in a covered
Vehicle. |
|
8. |
Steel plan cabinets and racks should also be wrapped first
with plastic bubble wrapper and finally by corrugated sheets. |

|
The quotation should be submitted in
sealed cover and superscripted with "Quotation for packing
& moving of paper artifacts". It
should reached this office by 4th November 2010 before 4.00 p.m.
and the same will be opened at 4.30 pm in presence of
such quotationers who wish to remain present. The Quotations
should enclosed credential certificates including certificate
of experience in packing and moving of art objects, without which
their quotation may not be considered. |

The right to accept or reject any or all the quotations without
assigning any reason is reserved to VMH. |
