Peary Chand Mitra (1814- 1856), marble bust by Edward Geflowski.

P.C. Mitra was one of the zealous social reformers inspired by W. V. Derozio at the Hindu College. He was closely associated with many public institutions like the Society for the Acqusition of General Knowledge, Bengal British India Society. He wrote the first Bengali novel --'Alaler Gharer Dulal' and the life of David Hare. The statue is presented on loan by the Calcutta Metropolitan Corporation.
