Victoria Memorial Hall is organising an exhibition of 40 aquatints by Thomas and William Daniell from Oriental Scenery of India Titled "An Exhibition on Magnificent Heritage of India as seen by the Daniells" on view till August 2015 at Portrait Gallery, Victoria Memorial Hall. Details

The Son-et-Lumiere (sound and Light) public shows (both the languages) will be on view as per the normal timings i.e. Bengali at 6:15 pm and English at 7:15 pm from from 11th November 2015 till further notice.

Due to unavoidable circumstances the Son-et-Lumiere (Sound and LIght) Public Shows at Victoria memorial Hall in both the languages (Bengali & English) will remain suspended on 19th November 2015

The Victoria Memorial Hall was opened in 1921. It is also a museum where people could see before them pictures and statues of men who played a prominent part in the history of India and develop a pride in their past especially in relation to the history of Calcutta . Lord Curzon conceived it. Presently it is the finest and most prominent building and art museum of Calcutta, India, under the Department of Culture, Government of India.

In pursuance of the notification issued by the Govt. of India, the 14th April 2015 (Tuesday) has been declared as a holiday under the Negotiable Instrument Act to commemorate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday.

In pursuance of the instruction contained in Govt. of West Bengal Finance (Audit) Department Memo No. 2649 F (P) dated 26.03.2015 the Victoria Memorial Hall will remain closed on 18th April 2015 in view of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Election. The Garden of Victoria Memorial Hall will remain open.
